'Titanic – Blood and Steel’ sails into Dublin, filming in Dublin until December 17th
14 Oct 2011 | The Irish/Italian mini-series has hit the Dublin streets for a twelve week Irish shoot, with Ciaran Donnelly (The Tudors) at the helm, and support from Robert Quinn (Primeval). The 12x1 hour mini series is to be produced by Paul Myler of EPOS Films in conjunction with Italian DeAngelis Group.

29 Sep 2011 | Principal photography has begun on Irish / Luxembourg / Dutch / Japanese co-production ‘Love Eternal’. The new feature began filming on location in Cobh, County Cork in late August and production has moved Luxembourg, where it is due to finish in two weeks time.

IBEC Reports Another Record Year For Irish AV Industry

The report covers 261 audiovisual productions completed in Ireland in 2010, with a total production value of €387.9 million – a significant increase of €144.6 million on 2009.

27 Jul 2011 | A two hour documentary, to be broadcast by National Geographic in the US, will begin filming off the coast of Kinsale, Co Cork this August. Produced by Lusitania Productions Ltd. in association with M3TV, the documentary, entitled ‘The Dark Secret of the Lusitania’, will attempt to uncover the mystery surrounding the sinking of Cunard Liner off the Southwest coast of Ireland in May 1915.

'Game of Thrones' Jobs Boost for NI Apprentices, Set Building Begins
19 Jul 2011 | The announcement that the second series of HBO fantasy series will again shoot in Northern Ireland has boosted the local economy, enabling Acapple Construction to hire apprentices to help build the new film sets. Work has already begun with Acapple Construction at Belfast’s Paint Hall Studios.

'Milo' Producer San Fu Maltha Sees "good future in Irish-Dutch co-productions"
18 Jul 2011 | Dutch producer San Fu Maltha (Black Book) has spoken to IFTN about the experience of shooting his latest project ‘Milo’ in Ireland. The BAFTA nominated producer praised Ireland as a filming location and indicated a possible return saying “Ireland is a beautiful country, with nice and friendly people. It was certainly something I would do again. I believe there is a good future for Dutch-Irish co productions.”

Ireland / Luxembourg Forge Film Co-Production Treaty
11 Jul 2011 | Ireland’s Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht Jimmy Deenihan and his Luxembourg counterpart Minister for communications and Media François Biltgen signed the first Irish Luxembourg Co-production Treaty this weekend. The Treaty aims to increase productions between the two countries and to encourage both countries to share resources, government incentives and local markets.

Cineflix Seeks Hidden 'Treasure' in Irish Film Locations
