Molodist Film Festival Celebrates Irish Shorts |
| 30 Aug 2010 | A showcase of Irish short films is to be presented at the International Film Festival Molodist in Ukraine which runs until the 31st of August. The Irish films being shown include Steph Green’s Oscar nominated ‘New Boy’, Darren Thornton's ‘Frankie’, Ciaran Foy's ‘The Faeries of Blackheath Woods’, Ken Wardrop's ‘Useless Dog’, ‘Undressing My Mother’ and ‘The Herd’. |

Festival Roundup: Queen’s Festival Lineup & Clones Calls for Shorts |
| 26 Aug 2010 | The Ulster Bank Belfast Festival at Queen’s takes place from the 15th to the 30th of October and will see film events running that will look to celebrate the work of Monthy Python, John Lennon and Hong Sangsoo amongst others. Further south the Clones Film Festival is inviting applications from short filmmakers to take part in a short film competition that will run as part of this year’s event. |

Interview: Niall McKay Talks San Fran Irish Film Fest |

The festival, which takes place this year from the 23rd to the 25th of September, looks to present the best in contemporary Irish cinema, celebrating everything from features to documentaries to Irish language films. Darklight Festival Unveils Early Highlights |
| 25 Aug 2010 | Dublin’s Darklight Film Festival has announced the participants for the Heroes Edition Guest Programmers for the festival which takes place in October. Festival Director Nicky Gogan has also announced that Lance Weiler will return to the festival this year as Symposium Key Note speaker. Early bird tickets are currently available for the event and participants are being accepted for Tyrell’s ‘My Environment, My Film' workshop and competition event. |

More Irish Titles Announced for Toronto 2010 |
| 25 Aug 2010 | The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) today announced more projects that will feature in its 2010 event. The festival’s line-up will include screenings of several Irish productions and co-productions including Tom Hall’s ‘Sensation’; Jerzy Skolimowski’s ‘Essential Killing’; Juanita Wilson's 'As If I Am Not There; Dome Karukoski's ‘Lapland Odyssey’ (which will enjoy its world premiere at the event) and the previously announced feature documentary, ‘The Pipe’ from Risteard O'Domhnall. |

'The Tudors' Celebrate at Creative Arts Emmys |
| 23 Aug 2010 | The final series of ‘The Tudors’ saw wins for two of its four nominations at this year’s Creative Arts Emmys. Joan Bergin and Susan Cave won the prize in the category of Outstanding Costumes for a Series whilst Tom Conroy, Colman Corish and Crispian Sallis took the Outstanding Art Direction for a Single Camera Series prize. The Awards ceremony took place on Saturday, August 21st. |

| 20 Aug 2010 | This year’s Rhode Island Film Festival saw many Irish filmmakers walk away as winners: Colin McIvor’s ‘Cup Cake’ was named Best Feature whilst Fastnet Film’s ‘The Chronoscope’ won Best Experimental Film and Conor Horgan’s ‘One Hundred Mornings’ picked up the event’s Vortex Sci-fi and Fantasy Award. |

'Pyjama Girls' Returns to IFI, Still Films in Spotlight |
| 20 Aug 2010 | ‘Pyjama Girls’, Maya Derrington’s new feature documentary will return to the IFI for an exclusive release today, August 20th. The project looks to capture the ups and downs of working class teenage life behind the enigmatic and subversive statement of wearing pyjamas in public. Still Films’ recent work will be further marked with the world premiere of Paul Rowley’s experimental feature, ‘The Rooms’ and his documentary ‘Seaview’. Finally Tuesday, August 24th will see a ‘Still Films in Conversation’ event take place where all three projects will be discussed. |

Irish Films Screening at Scandinavian Festivals |

Brendan Muldowney’s ‘Savage’ is to screen at festivals in Finland and Sweden whilst ‘His & Hers’, ‘Eamon’ and ‘Nothing Personal’ have all been officially selected to screen at the Norwegian International Film Festival. |

NI Screen Seek Screenwriters for Fest Sponsorship |

‘Horses’ Shortlisted by Grierson Awards |

Irish Screening in the ‘Pipe’-line for Toronto |

Venice Film Festival Decides on ‘Essential Killing’ |
| 12 Aug 2010 | Director, Jerzy Skolimowski (Moonlighting) will see his latest feature, ‘Essential Killing’ compete at this year’s 67th Venice Film Festival for the event’s prestigious Golden Lion. ‘Essential Killing’, which is co-produced by Ireland’s Element Pictures, will have its world premiere screening at the 67th Venice International Film Festival, which takes place from September 1st-11th 2010. |

‘His & Hers’ Scoops Traverse Film Festival Prize |
