02 Mar 2010 Arts Council Reduces Funding Across the Board

In the month of February the Arts Council announced over 350 funding decisions for 2010, an investment totaling just over €49 million. Within this figure all areas of the arts including literature, dance, theatre and music see a decrease in funding from last year’s allowances. The funding in the area of film decreased from €2,395,400 in 2009 to €2,018,200 for 2010. more

‘Knockout’, a new feature film to be directed by Steven Soderbergh (Ocean’s Thirteen, Erin Brockovich) will start a three week shoot in and around Dublin and Wicklow next month.
