Actress Sorcha Furlong launches The Gaiety School of Acting’s Autumn Programme for 2014
15 Sep 2014 | ‘Fair City’ actress Sorcha Furlong was recently on hand with actors Marnie McCleane, Stephen O’Leary and Dave Rowe as well as GSA Director Patrick Sutton to help launch the forthcoming Autumn/Spring 2014/15 programme at The Gaiety School of Acting – The National Theatre School at their HQ on Essex Street West, Temple Bar. Sorcha, who plays Orla Kirwan in the popular RTE series ‘Fair City’, previously completed an evening course at the school when she was younger.

Irish Film Board Scholarship offered at The National Film School, IADT

Young Irish Filmmakers get behind the camera at IADT
15 Jul 2014 | The National Youth Film School (NYFS) takes place at the Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT) Dun Laoghaire on July 14th – 18th 2014. The NYFS is specifically designed for young people aged 16 to 19 who are interested in pursuing a career in film-making or television. Budding filmmakers will attend a week long training and production workshop at IADT where they will get the chance to work on a professionally run crew to produce a short film. An industry premiere is planned for autumn 2014 to screen the films and showcase the young talent.

The Fleadh brings together audiences and filmmakers from around the world. VFX: Script to Screen 2014 progamme kicks off in Dublin
02 Jul 2014 | The 2014 VFX: Script to Screen programme, designed in association with Screen Training Ireland, the Irish Film Board and the VFX Association of Ireland, has kicked off its first module programme in Dublin today. The programme focuses on enabling experienced European filmmakers to fully understand visual effects and digital production, and provides them with the technical and creative skills to develop and manage ambitious VFX projects.
