Creative Europe provides further support for Irish Film, TV and Games Companies

Northern Ireland-based Titanic Studios gets £14m Extension
14 Aug 2014 | Titanic Studios, the production facilities in Northern Ireland where ‘Game of Thrones’ is shot, is to add two stages as part of a £14 million (€17.5 million) upgrade. The facilities, which sit on an eight-acre site in Belfast, received the greenlight for the expansion plans from Northern Ireland’s environment minister Mark H. Durkan on Tuesday. The extension will provide an additional 100,000 sq. ft. of production facilities, which will increase the site to more than 250,000 sq. ft.

10 Jul 2014 | RTÉ is cooperating with BBC Network Comedy and BBC Northern Ireland on a ‘Comedy Showcase’ Event, which will take place on 22nd September 2014 in Belfast. As part of this RTÉ will be nominating one scripted project which is a classic sitcom setup, to be performed in front of a live audience.

New Conditions for BFI Funding
08 Jul 2014 | The BFI has announced that from September, UK film productions that receive money from the BFI Film Fund must adhere to new diversity guidelines. The BFI’s new three ticks assessment is designed to improve diversity of ethnicity, disability, gender, sexual orientation and socio-economic background in the industry.

RTÉ Seeks Ideas for GAA Championship Sports Programming
28 Apr 2014 | RTÉ Sport is seeking new ideas for its GAA Championship support funding. The international broadcaster is looking for a series of 15 programmes with a maximum budget of €300,000 excluding VAT and the presenter/narrator. The series will transmit on RTÉ Two on Thursdays from 8.30pm to 9pm or on Fridays from 8pm to 8.30pm.
