BBC's 'Loving Miss Hatto' Sets April Dublin Shoot Date
15 Feb 2012 | Award winning Irish director Aisling Walsh (Song For a Raggy Boy, Trial & Retribution) is set to film a new BBC Drama ‘Loving Miss Hatto’ on location in Dublin, Ireland this coming April. The €2million production will be produced by Octagon Films (The Tudors, Raw, As if I’m Not There) and Left Bank Films for the BBC with financing from Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board.

03 Feb 2012 | The Irish Film Board (IFB) has announced strategic plans for 2012 with their production catalogue including 18 upcoming feature films. Projects such as Lance Daly’s ‘Life’s a Breeze’ starring Fionnuala Flanagan; Lenny Abrahamson’s ‘What Richard Did’; ‘Sanctuary’ by Norah McGettingan; ‘Love Eternal’ by Brendan Muldowney and Neil Jordan’s vampire thriller ‘Byzantium’ which wrapped in Ireland this week to name but a few.

'Canals' Filmmaker Mark O'Connor Begins 'Stalker'

'Privates' in Production in Northern Ireland
03 Feb 2012 | A new 5x45 minute drama series for the BBC One is currently being filmed in Northern Ireland. ‘Privates’ is set in the 1960s and follows the story of eight young men as they undertake their basic training as part of the last intake of conscripts for National Service.

UK Film tax relief extended to 2015
10 Nov 2011 | Films made in the UK will continue to receive tax breaks, worth around €110 millon a year, British Prime Minister David Cameron announced today. With the scheme extended to 2015, eligible films must be released in the UK, with 25% of their production costs spent in the country. Industry estimates say the system makes the UK up to 40% cheaper for film-makers than the US.
