Omniplex Cinema Group, Ireland’s largest cinema company, has acquired 5 existing Empire Cinema locations. The total investment will exceed €25 million and secure 150 existing jobs.
Omniplex Cinema Group, Ireland’s largest cinema company, continues its expansion into the UK by acquiring five existing Empire Cinema locations.
This expansion will see Birmingham, Ipswich, Sutton, Clydebank, and High Wycombe join the Omniplex Cinema Group, with each location set to open in early December 2023 and more to be announced in 2024. The cinema company already operates 38 separate cinema locations on the island of Ireland.
Omniplex Cinema Group is making a total investment of £22.5 million (€26.2 million) over eighteen months to acquire and renovate these existing locations. This investment is set to secure 150 existing jobs.

The individual site openings are planned on the following dates; Birmingham on 6th December, Ipswich and Sutton on 8th December, Clydebank and High Wycombe on 10th December 2023.
