01 May 2012 | Irish director Declan Lowney has spoken exclusively to IFTN of his “delight” in being asked to direct the much-anticipated Alan Partridge movie. Based on British comedian Steve Coogan’s cult TV chat show host, the currently titled ‘The Alan Partridge Movie’ will see Lowney direct a script written by Armando Iannucci (The Thick of It), Coogan, Peter Baynham (Bruno, Borat) and Rob and Neil Gibbons (Scoop). The film is due to shoot in the UK this autumn for a 2013 release. |

‘Zig and Zag: The Animated Series’ Eyes Summer Production Start |
01 May 2012 | ‘Zig and Zag: The Animated Series’ is set to go into production this summer with a planned transmission date on CBBC and RTÉ for next year. Dublin’s Double Z Productions and Co Down animation company Flickerpix are currently finalising the financing of the 2D animated television series, which will mark the return of the famous 1990s puppet duo who first appeared on RTÉ’s ‘Dempsey’s Den’ before a successful stint on ‘The Big Breakfast’ on Channel 4. |

Exclusive: TV3 €1.2m Irish Drama Series To Shoot in Galway |
01 May 2012 | EXCLUSIVE: Production on TV3’s much-anticipated six-part Irish drama series ‘Tailor's Hill’ (working title) is to begin on June 18 in Galway. A strong team of soap and drama writers have been brought together to script the series, which has been created by 'Eastenders' and 'Holby City writer Gert Thomas. It will comprise of six one-hour episodes and will be shot over four weeks in Galway and Spiddal. The series is expected to air in the autumn. |
