Pluto Film acquires International Sales Rights to Irish Co-Production ‘Black Sun’

The English-language drama is set to film in Ireland, Finland and Latvia later this year and into early 2018, and is helmed by ‘Hollow Sky’ writer/director Maria Ruotsala.

Merja Ritola is lead producer on the project, which is an Irish, Finnish and German co-production with Bríd Seoighe and Pierce Boyce of Abú Media on board for Ireland, Greenlit Productions of Finland and German outfit Cornelsen Films.

Chloé Farnworth (First House on the Hill), John Hwatz and Nicolas Fagerberg (Imperial Blue) are so far confirmed as cast members.

‘Black Sun’ follows a small band of idealists who try to establish an artists’ retreat shortly after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
