Irish Short Film ‘The Clockmaker’s Dream’ wins Grand Jury Prize at Amacort International Film Festival
12 Dec 2016 : Katie McNeice
The Italian festival which pays tribute annually to ‘Amarcord’ (1973) Director Federico Fellini ran from December 2nd-8th and awarded the title to Cashell Horgan’s project, which also picked up Best Short Film at the Waterford Film Festival this year.

The jury was composed of Oberhausen Shortfilm Festival director Lars Henrik as Jury President, Director of The Malta International TV short film festival Tony Palas, film critic Gianluca Castellini and Andrzej Roman Jasiewicz, known as both a writer and producer as well as director.

Additional awards for the short film include Best Director for Horgan at the Richard Harris International Film Festival last month, and a total of five awards at the Monaco International Film Festival for Best Arthouse, Best Animation, Best Costume, Best Narration and Best Editing.

Cashell Horgan, Writer/Director:
“It’s great to see the film doing so well both at home and abroad the accolades are in recognition to the cast and crew who dedicated so much of their time and energy to the project over the last year.”

The project was produced by Made Image Films for Limerick City of Culture, starring Joe Mullins (Pilgrim Hill) and is narrated by Jared Harris (The Terror).
