Official Trailer for ‘Young Ones’ Released
25 Aug 2014 : Deirdre Molumby
The official trailer for Irish co-production, ‘Young Ones’, is now available to view. The film was co-financed by Subotica Entertainment alongside Spier Films and Saint Shadow in association with BiFrost Pictures, Quickfire Films, Six Sales and The Exchange.

‘Young Ones’ stars Nicholas Hoult, Michael Shannon, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Elle Fanning. It is set in a violent near future where water is fast becoming scarce, resulting in it being the most precious resource on the planet. A 14 year-old boy (Smit-McPhee) is forced to use everything in his arsenal to survive and to protect his family in the new world.

Shot in South Africa, Tristan Orpen Lynch produced for Dublin-based Subotica with Michael Auret for South Africa’s Spier Films. Subotica was behind IFTA-winning films ‘Song for a Raggy Boy’ and ‘Small Engine Repair’ as well as upcoming features, ‘Gold’, starring David Wilmot, James Nesbitt and Maisie Williams, ‘Miss Julie’ with Jessica Chastain and Colin Farrell as the leads, and ‘Jimi: All is By My Side’, a biopic on music legend Jimi Hendrix.

‘Young Ones’ screened at this year’s Sundance and Berlin Film Festival and more recently screened at the Galway Film Fleadh. It will be released in the USA on October 17, 2014.
