Irish title ‘Dare to be Wild’ leads this weekend’s Cinema Releases

Emma Greenwell & Tom Hughes, 'Dare to be Wild'
The debut feature film ‘Dare to be Wild’ from Irish Writer-Director Vivienne DeCourcy releases to Irish cinemas today, in addition to a range of international titles.

Other Irish talents included in ‘Dare to be Wild’ are the IFTA-winning Cinematographer Cathal Watters and Costume Designer Consolata Boyle (The Queen).

‘Love & Friendship’ Actress Emma Greenwell leads the cast as Mary Reynolds in this true story, which sees a modern-day Irish heroine win the Gold Medal at the Chelsea Flower Show, against all odds.

The project is a co-production between Treasure Entertainment, Green Earth and Crows Nest. Irish Producers are Robert Walpole and Rebecca O’Flanagan of Treasure Entertainment.

Magnificent Seven

From ‘Southpaw’ helmer Antoine Fuqua comes the western action feature ‘Magnificent Seven’, starring Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt as two of a band of gunmen who gather together to protect a poor village against thieves. ‘Magnificent Seven’ is distributed in Ireland by Sony Pictures.

The Rolling Stones: Havana Moon

Paul Dugdale directs this musical title chronicling the historic Rolling Stones concert in Havana, Cuba. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood perform to 1.2M fans. ‘The Rolling Stones: Havana Moon’ is distributed in Ireland by Studio Canal.

The Girl with All the Gifts

Glenn Close (Albert Nobbs), Paddy Considine (In America) and Sienna Nanua (Beverly) star in this dystopian thriller directed by Colm McCarthy. This title is distributed in Ireland by Warner Brothers.

Little Men

This title is the latest from the award-winning ‘Keep the Lights On’ helmer Ira Sachs starring ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Actress Jennifer Ehle, in addition to Greg Kinnear (As Good as it Gets). In this family drama two best friends are tested with their parents battle over a dress shop lease. ‘Little Men’ is distributed in Ireland by Altitude Films.

De Palma

Noah Baumbach (Mistress America) and Jake Paltrow (Young Ones) direct this documentary dealing with the life and work of iconic filmmaker Brian De Palma. This title is distributed in Ireland by Studio Canal.
