Next month, December 2-6, will see the Kerry Training Centre host industry expert Morris Flam for the first in a series of planned production masterclasses, sponsored by Broadcast SLR hire.
"The Dawn", named for the 1936 Killarney-shot film of the same name, will feature a slate of industry workshops to run through the end of this year and into the next, with the first set to be a lighting masterclass from veteran Morris "Mo" Flam.
With an extensive career spanning work on over seventy productions including 'I Am Legend', 'The Talented Mr. Ripley' and the Oscar-winning 'Black Swan', Mr. Flam will share his expertise through a series of seminars and practical lighting workshops using examples from his previous portfolio.
Though the Training Centre's first workshop has already sold out due to high demand, those interested in a place on the cancellation waiting list can contact brian.nolan@solas.ie. Tickets are priced at €360 for the week.
"The Dawn" workshops are organized in association with the Institute of Technology Tralee’s Creative Media Department, South Kerry Development Partnership and the Dingle Film Festival, and future topics to run into the New Year will include courses on Camera and Sound, as well as a Line Producing workshop.
