Tullamore actor Sam Keeley - best known for roles in ‘What Richard Did’ and ‘Misfits’ - appears in the first trailer for sci-fi blockbuster ‘Monsters: Dark Continent’, the sequel to director Gareth Edward’s alien invasion hit ‘Monsters’.
Keeley plays a young soldier who, along with the rest of his company, is sent on a mission into an ‘infected zone’ filled with giant alien creatures, to find and kill an American soldier who has gone rogue.
Helmed by ‘Misfits’ director Tom Green, ‘Monsters: Dark Continent’ takes place seven years after the original and was filmed on location in Jordan and Detroit.
Keeley is also set to join fellow Irish actors Brendan Gleeson and Cillian Murphy for Ron Howard’s sea epic ‘In The Heart of the Sea’, about the disaster that inspired author Herman Melville to write ‘Moby Dick’.
His acting career began with 'The Other Side of Sleep', directed by Rebecca Daly, before he landed the part of Jamie in ‘Misfits’, the long-lost brother of Robert Sheehan’s character.
Keeley also appeared in 'This Must Be The Place', filmed in Dublin, starring Sean Penn and Eve Hewson; ‘Jack Taylor: The Pikemen’; and RTE’s ‘Raw’.
Joining Keeley in ‘Monsters: Dark Continent’ are actors Johnny Harris (‘Welcome To The Punch’) and Joe Dempsie (‘Game Of Thrones’).
