The nominations for the Madrid International Film Festival have just been announced, with Northern Irish film composer and music producer Jenny McCaffrey in contention for Best Soundtrack for her work on short film 'Imbolc', written and directed by Laura Graham.
‘This exciting nomination proves how successful the collaboration was between myself and Imbolc's insightful director Laura Graham, who was very hands on with development of the film score. Creative collaborations always lead to the best results," Ms McCaffrey said.
A recent graduate of the Masters in Music for Film and Television from Bristol University, Ms McCaffrey moved to Devon in 2005 where she completed a degree in Music Composition in Dartington College of Arts – specialising in writing, composing, arranging, performing and recording music for film.
Funded by Northern Ireland Screen, ‘Imbolc’ tells the story of an American anthropologist who researches her family’s Ulster Scots roots and uncovers links to a witch trial. As her investigation deepens, she becomes involved in the lives of locals before tragedy strikes.
The Madrid International Film Festival, running from July 1st – 6th, recognises exceptional achievement in film from the smallest independent film makers to the most popular English and foreign language films in all genres.
