In today’s Daily Bite: ‘Ripper Street’ producers Tiger Aspect appoint a new managing director; Channel 4 put name an interim head of comedy; and a look at Martin McDonagh for the much anticipated ‘Seven Psychopaths’.
Tiger Aspect names new managing director… Sophie Clarke-Jervoise has been named the new managing director of Tiger Aspect Productions. Clarke-Jervoise, currently the head of comedy at the British-based outfit, will take over an MD role left vacant for two years. Tiger Aspect have produced a number of high-profile TV productions, most recently ‘Ripper Street’, which they co-produced with Dublin’s Element Pictures for the BBC. Clarke-Jervoise will take up her new position with immediate effect and will report directly to Endemol group president Tim Hincks and UK chief executive Lucas Church.
Channel 4 appoints acting head of comedy…Channel 4 comedy commissioner Nerys Evans is to take over as acting head of comedy at the broadcaster following the departure of Shane Allen to the BBC. Broadcast reports that Evans has been with Channel 4 since 2010. She will work with comedy editor Fiona McDermott continuing to oversee comedy output on the channel.
