Irish casting directors Maureen Hughes and Gillian Reynolds, as well as TV producer and director Bill Hughes are to run summer workshops at the Gaiety School of Acting.
Longtime independent TV producer and director Hughes will host a workshop on TV presentation aimed at those hoping to become television presenters on July 28.
On August 11, the Gaiety School of Acting will then host Maureen Hughes and Gillian Reynolds as they give a one-day casting and auditioning workshop.
Both workshops will cost €100 and take place on a Saturday between 10am and 5pm at the Dublin-based school on Essex Street West in Temple Bar.
Bill Hughes has been an independent television producer and director since 1985 making over 1000 hours of music, arts, entertainment, performance and documentary programming for RTÉ, ITV, BBC, PBS, CBC and ABC Australia.
Participants of his TV presentation workshop can expect to learn everything from practical TV presenting tips and techniques to increasing their confidence in their vocal delivery.
Casting director Maureen Hughes began her career in theatre in 1984 before joining UK casting director Susie Figgis in 1996 to find the lead casting for Neil Jordan’s ‘The Butcher Boy’. Having since embarked on a freelance career, her recent film credits include ‘Once,’ ‘Six Shooter,’ ‘Love/Hate’ and ‘This Must Be The Place’.
Gillian Reynolds started her career as the resident assistant theatre director at the Orange Tree Theatre in London. She has since worked on a number of high-profile films including ‘The Count Of Monte Cristo,’ ‘Becoming Jane’ and recent Irish feature ‘A Kiss For Jed’.
