Keira Knightley has reportedly replaced Scarlett Johansson in Irish director John Carney’s forthcoming movie ‘Can A Song Save Your Life?’
Dublin-born Carney, who enjoyed huge success with his 2006 feature ‘Once,’ will direct the feature from his own screenplay. The shoot is due to get underway in New York next month with Judd Apatow (Knocked Up) set to produce the reported $10m feature for his own Apatow Productions.
Exclusive Media is financing, producing and selling the feature from today (May 16) in Cannes at the film festival’s market.
Knightly has just joined the project after Johansson was forced to pull out, reports Screen Daily, who added that Johansson is understood to have left the project for personal reasons.
‘Can A Song Save Your Life?’ tells the story about a singer who moves to New York with her boyfriend only to be dumped by him and be subsequently discovered by a producer. Hailee Steinfeld and Mark Ruffalo also star.
