Scottish actor James Cosmo (Game of Thrones, Braveheart, Sons of Anarchy) joins cast of Sonny and Skye Production’s ‘Seven Songs for Amy’.
Cameras began rolling on the comedy this week in Galway with the latest news confirming James Cosmo will take on the role of Amy’s father in the feature. The acto, who recently starred in the Ciáran Foy’s ‘Citadel’, joins the production on set tomorrow.
Writer and producer of ‘Seven Songs for Amy’ Fiona Graham is hugely enthusiastic about James’ involvement and said ”when I was writing the script, I always visualized James in the role of Murdo (Amy’s father)” and described him as ”a legend in the film industry.”
James joins other cast members including Sean Maguire (Meet the Spartans, LA Blues), Kevin J Ryan (Laredo), Lorna Anderson (River City), Ford Kiernan (Still Game, Gangs of New York), Gavin Mitchell (Mandancin’), Patrick Bergin (Sleeping with the Enemy) and rock band Alabama 3 (Soprano theme tune ‘Woke up this morning’). The comedy tells the story of a singer and musician who is trying to win back the love of his life from a successful popstar.
The feature is currently filming in locations in Galway before the production moves to New York in September, with BAFTA nominated director Konrad Begg (Top Gear) at the helm.
