Park Films are currently in pre-production on their new project, a feature documentary called ‘Lola Ya Bonobo’ which will examine the work of Claudine Andre and her NGO sanctuary for Bonobo chimpanzees in the Congo.

‘Lola Ya Bonobo’ is directed by Rory Bresnihan (The Man Inside) and produced by Anne Marie Naughton (Tara Road). The doc will have a two week shoot in January of next year in the Congo and the director of photography is TBC. It is expected that the feature will be released in the Autumn of 2010.

Producer Anne Marie Naughton describes the project for IFTN, saying: “Lola Ya Bonobo is a feature documentary which has its roots in the story of the rehabilitation of a group of Bonobo chimpanzees from the south side of the river Congo. A small eclectic crew find their way into the jungle to document the story of their release back into the wilds of the jungle but soon find that the distinction between subject and spectator is more ambiguous than at first imagined.”
