The five nominees of the Galway Film Fleadh’s Bingham Ray New Talent Award have been announced for 2015.
This year’s nominees have been shortlisted for their work in the fields of Directing, Acting and Producing.
The Nominees for 2015 are:
- Alex Fegan (Director, ‘Older Than Ireland’)
- Mark Noonan (Director, ‘You’re Ugly Too’)
- Lauren Kinsella (Actress, ‘You’re Ugly Too’)
- Barry Ward (Actor, ‘Pursuit’, ‘Blood Cells’)
- Kathryn Kennedy (Producer, ‘My Name is Emily’)
US Independent Film Executive Bingham Ray, throughout his busy career at October films, United Artists and Sidney Kimmel, still managed to attend the Fleadh annually, becoming one of the festival’s greatest stalwarts, spending much of his time at Galway Film Fair mentoring and encouraging filmmakers.
The inaugural Bingham Ray New Talent Award was given to Gerard Barrett by Bingham’s daughters, Annabel and Becca, for ‘Pilgrim Hill’, which went on to worldwide success. Last year the award went to producer Anne Marie Naughton, for her work producing Irish horror film ‘The Canal’.
The winner of the 2015 Bingham Ray New Talent Award, in association with Magnolia Pictures, will be announced at the Closing Night Awards Ceremony of the 2015 Galway Film Fleadh at 7:15pm on Sunday July 12th.
