Filmbase, in association with WildWave, will be holding a special seminar on Thursday 23rd April, to introduce filmmakers to the world of digital filmmaking and multiplatform distribution.
The Learning Objective of the workshop is to introduce filmmakers to the world of digital filmmaking and multiplatform distribution. To extend the reach of filmmakers; either as a platform to get started in the world of filmmaking, or for existing and/or experienced filmmakers to learn how to use new digital platforms to their best advantage - either as an extension of a broadcast/cinematic film or as a separate platform for screening/distribution.
The workshop will be run by Stephen McCormack from Wildwave from 10am – 5pm and will cost €35.
Presentation to include:
• General overview of the online landscape today and the digital platforms that are relevant to all filmmakers
• Show and Tell presentation of the features and usage patterns of the users of various platforms (YouTube / Bebo / MySpace / Facebook / Broadband / Mobile / Joost / Hulu / Podcasting etc)
• Real examples of exceptional Audio Visual content that is available on these platforms
• A profile of the usage of online media/digital media
• Recommendations for how to develop online content as well as how to incorporate this into broadcast programming
Workshop:
• Workshop on maximising an online presence in order to reach a target audience
• Focus on competition in the Irish market as well as the Global market
• Ways to raise awareness of sites/programmes/webisodes/brands
• Ways to encourage interaction on sites/programmes/webisodes
• Examples of how to use Bebo/MySpace/YouYube/Facebook to your advantage (for example, what would be the best way to go about setting up a user channel on these networking sites...)
