Naomi Wilson’s animated short film ‘An Cailleach Bhéarra’ (Old Woman of Bearra) will join 40 other titles on the ‘Oberhausen on Tour’, a trip through 35 cities in 14 different countries from January to June.
Wilson’s animated film tells old stories about the 'cailleach' (old woman), such as the tale that every hundred years she must get back to the water and immerse herself so that she might become young again.
The tour is organised through The Oberhausen International Short Film Festival. All the films have screened at the last two Oberhausen festivals and will present the most interesting current works featured, arranged into five programmes. In association with the partner venues, the Oberhausen selection gives viewers throughout Europe an opportunity to discover all the variety offered by today’s short film scene.
The countries that will play host to the tour include Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Croatia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Rumania, Russia, Switzerland, Turkey.
