McCaul Announced General Manager for Paramount Pictures

Niamh McCaul has been appointed the new general manager of Paramount Pictures International, Ireland. McCaul takes over the role from Paddy Kelly, who is now retired after 40 years working in the industry.

McCaul, who commenced her new role on July 7th, joins PPI from independent film distribution company Eclipse Pictures Limited, of which she has been Managing Director since 2002. With fifteen years experience in film distribution, McCaul has been instrumental in the success of distributing releases such as ‘The Magdalene Sisters’, ‘The Passion of The Christ’, Oscar-winning ‘La Vie En Rose’ and Irish films such as ‘Pavee Lackeen’.

“I am delighted to be joining the Paramount team in Ireland”, said McCaul. “As the number one distributor last year, they have already had tremendous success in 2008 with releases such as Iron Man, Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda and I am really looking forward to working on new exciting titles including Tropic Thunder, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa this year and The Lovely Bones to be released in 2009."
