Texas-based children’s entertainment distributor NCircle Entertainment has bought the DVD and digital rights to IFTA winning Irish animated TV series ‘Skunk Fu!’ in a five year North American home entertainment distribution deal with the UK’s Cake Distribution.
The 52 x 11' children’s animation, produced by Kilkenny’s Cartoon Saloon, was sold alongside UK animated series ‘Tiny Planets’. The deal follows the news that the action animation will be released on DVD by Warner Music in the UK, France and Australia.
“We think that ‘Skunk Fu!’ has performed so well due to its great characters and strong storytelling,” Jordan Gaucher, series producer on ‘Skunk Fu!’, told IFTN. “Its mix of kung fu action and comedy resonates with kids around the world. We are thrilled with the announcement that Skunk Fu! will be released on DVD in the US and Canada by N Circle Entertainment, and in the UK, France and Australia by Warner Music.”
The series, aimed at 6 - 11 year olds, tells the story of Skunk, who must master the ways of Kung Fu in an attempt to defend his home turf, The Valley, from evil enemies. The series, produced by Cartoon Saloon with Telegael and Cake Entertainment, is directed by Aidan Harte and produced by Paul Young, Tom Van Waveren and Paul Cummins. ‘Skunk Fu!’ sold to the Cartoon Network US in May, and is now airing in 120 territories worldwide.

Two DVD titles from Skunk Fu!, ‘The Art of Rivalry’ and ‘The Art of Monkey Launching,’ are set for release with NCircle in December 2008.
