Big Mountain Double Bill Approaches | The Irish Film & Television Network

‘Imeall Geal’, a lively 10 part entertainment and music series in the Irish language was filmed in front of an audience in The Sean Hollywood Centre and produced in Newry. Directed and produced by Kieran Kirby, guests in the upcoming series include Horslips, General Fiasco, Mick Flannery and young football sensation recently signed to Man United, Joe Coll and GAA pundit Jarlath Burns.

Directly after ‘Imeall Geal’, Brendan Hughes’ hour long documentary, ‘Are You Related to An American President?’ will air. Director of ‘Time Team’, Brendan’s latest project tracks the journey of two Northern Irish people as they trace their presidential roots all the way to The White House. The programme also looks to give a unique insight into the contribution that the Ulster Scots made to America.

Both shows were commissioned by BBC NI with ‘Imeall Geal’ receiving further support from the ILBF (Irish Language Broadcast Fund). Budget information for both shows is TBC. The offline post production for both series was carried out in house in Big Mountain Productions with the online edit for ‘Imeall Geal’ carried out by Joe Marcus Editing.

Big Mountain Productions are currently in production with a 4 x 45 minute history series for TV3 which is to be produced by two-time BAFTA winner Jeff Morgan (Ape-Man) and supported by the BAI and a second series of ‘Traffic Blues’ for RTÉ1 which sees Philip McGovern on board as executive producer.
