Northern Irish television presenter Christine Bleakley has signed a three year deal with broadcaster ITV.
The Newtownards native currently fronts BBC’s ‘The One Show’ which airs five nights a week. Bleakley will join former ‘One Show’ colleague Adrian Chiles - who moved to ITV earlier this year – to co-host ITV’s new format breakfast show from the autumn. She is also being lined up to present prime-time ITV entertainment shows. The deal is worth a reported £4million.
Speaking about the move Christine said “I am looking forward to a brand new experience at ITV albeit with an old friend [Chiles]…I have had the most wonderful three years at the BBC and The One Show. It has consumed my life in that time and I would not have had it any other way; I have made great friends and met some incredible people.”
