A short documentary, ‘The Herd’, from director Ken Wardrop (Undressing my Mother) has won in the category of Best Short Documentary at this year’s Expression En Corto International Film Festival, Mexico.
The short documentary is an examination of bestial identity crisis when a deer befriends a herd of Limosin cattle. The short film, currently screening at festivals around the globe, received completion funding from Bord Scannán na hÉireann / Irish Film Board. It was produced by Andrew Freedman, shot and edited by Ken Wardrop.
The festival, now in its twelfth year, is held annually in San Miguel de Allende and is the largest international film and video competition in Mexico. This year alone the festival received over 2,000 entries from eighty-four countries.
