Subotica Bring Features to Film In Ireland |
23 Nov 2010 | Subotica Entertainment is currently in pre-production with two feature films that the group will co-produce with Danish production company, Centropa in spring 2011. The films, ‘A Royal Affair’ and ‘Flowers of Desire’ will shoot in both Ireland and Denmark next year and will be directed by Nikolaj Arcel (writer, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and Simon Staho (Day and Night) respectively. |

New Rules for Eurimages Co-Production Funding |
08 Nov 2010 | From January 1st 2011, several changes will be introduced into the Eurimages Regulations for Co-Production Support. These include a requirement to have 50% of funding in place for projects by the submission deadline and will also mean that submitters will have to include a digital master copy of their project for cinema release and the option of resubmitting previously withdrawn projects is now allowed. |

'Jack Taylor' Production Returns to Galway |
05 Nov 2010 | Cameras will start to roll on November 8th of the five week Irish shoot of a second and third installment of Magma Production’s ‘Jack Taylor’ series. Both installments will shoot on RED on location in Galway, followed by a two week shoot in Germany. The production will see the return of Iain Glen (Resident Evil) as Private Investigator, Jack Taylor and Killian Scott (Love/Hate) as his enthusiastic sidekick, Cody. |

Dublin and Cork Mark the Spot for Sky’s ‘Treasure Island’ |

The two part drama, ‘Treasure Island’ will star Emmy award winning comedian Eddie Izzard (Eddie Izzard: Dress to Kill) as Long John Silver and will shoot in Dublin and Cork for five weeks before moving production to Puerto Rico after Christmas. |

'Thor' 3D Movie First For Magma |

Film & TV Gives €200m Boost to Irish economy |
27 Sep 2010 | Mary Hanafin TD, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sport last weekend visited the set of the feature film ‘Neverland’ which is currently in production in Ireland. As IFTN readers will be aware, ‘Neverland’ is one of several film and TV productions filming in Ireland this year which will be exported to audiences around the globe. Furthermore it is estimated that, despite the global financial downturn, the entire film and television industry will contribute an estimated €200 million to the Irish economy in 2010 in terms of spend on local goods, employment and services. |

'Sweet Baby Jesus' Moves Production to UK/Italy |

The feature marks Italian director Paolo Sorrentino's English feature debut and will shoot on location in Dublin for the next three weeks. The film stars Oscar-winners Sean Penn (Milk, Mystic River), Frances McDormand (Fargo), and musician David Byrne, alongside Irish talent Simon Delaney (Zonad, Happy Ever Afters), Olwen Fouere (Space Truckers) and newcomer Eve Hewson. |

The Dublin-based caper, recently featured as one of 13 books on the longlist for the Man Booker Prize, centres around the life of Daniel ‘Skippy’ Juster and his room-mate Ruprecht Van Doren, and their life in a Catholic boarding school. |

Work Begins on National Film School Building |

£22m Return in NIS Financial Report |
28 Jul 2010 | Northern Ireland Screen‘s annual report for the year 2009 - 2010 has been published and shows a return of £22 million to the local economy through the group’s main production investment fund. One of the biggest success stories for the group was ‘Your Highness’ which brought in £11.78 million of this. |

UK Film Council to be Abolished? |
