Interview with X-Pollinator Guests - Greek Director and Producer of ANIMAL
The guests for the Creative Europe MEDIA supported panel at X-Pollinator 2024 will be Greek director Sofia Exarchou and Greek producer Maria Drandaki from Homemade Films. They will chat about their film, Animal (2023), on Saturday 24th February in TU Dublin.
In advance of X-Pollinator, CEDI did a short interview with Sofia and Maria which you can read here. They talk about the what drew them to the story, the funding and development of the film. Animal is a Greek, Austrian, Bulgarian, Cypriot, Romanian co-production supported by Creative Europe MEDIA and Eurimages. It premiered in competition at Locarno and won the Spirit of the Festival Award at Cork International Film Festival 2023.
X-Pollinator is a cross-disciplinary professional development and networking initiative for female, trans and non-binary talent. X-Pollinator 2024 will take place from 23 - 25 February on campus at TU Dublin Grangegorman with an exciting line-up of international speakers such as Aoife McArdle, director of 'Severance'; Ella Glendining, director of 'Is There Anybody Out There?' as well as a case study of 'Animal' from director Sofia Exarchou and producer Maria Drandaki, which will be screened for participants with a networking reception.
International Sales Agent Event, 1st March at DIFF 2024
We are delighted to support the International Sales Agent event at Dublin International Film Festival 2024 on Friday 1st March at 2pm in Goethe-Institut Irland, 37 Merrion Square, Dublin 2.
Following the hugely successful Sales Agents events in the past years, DIFF has invited Claudio Corsetti, Acquisitions Manager from Media Luna New Films, one of the largest sales agents in Europe, to meet with Irish filmmakers at DIFF 2024. The event will open with an introduction by Orla Clancy from Creative Europe Desk Ireland - MEDIA Office. ACE Producers 34
ACE Producers is a key European network of successful producers from Europe and beyond which is supported by Creative Europe. Each year, up to 20 new experienced producers are accepted into the ACE Network after completing the ACE Annual Programme. It consists of three workshops emphasising the key position and unique responsibilities of the producer throughout the whole process of making a film: development, financing, production, marketing and distribution. Experienced independent producers apply with a project in development that is suitable for co-production and aimed at the international market. ACE 34 is open for applications until May, 2024.
