The Flats opens Docs Ireland 2024
IFTN brings you a round-up of Creative Europe’s key updates including the Animation Ireland Meitheal summit in Galway, the Docs Ireland 2024 programme and a free webinar for producers.

Animation Ireland Meitheal, Galway, 25th May
Creative Europe Desk Ireland MEDIA is proud to be amongst the supporters of Animation Ireland Meitheal industry summit which takes place in Galway Bay Hotel on Saturday 25th May.
The primary goal of Animation Ireland Meitheal is to inform and inspire professionals about the current developments in the animation industry, both in Ireland and internationally. Sessions include:

  • Animating the Future: Humans & Machine 
  • Bayside Talks with Vicky Potts, Aidan O'Donovan, Adam Whiteside and Colm Tobin 
  • Animating the Future: Creativity and Technology

Docs Ireland, Belfast, 18 – 24 June
MEDIA Office Dublin is delighted to be one of the supporters of Docs Ireland 2024 which takes place in Belfast from the 18th to 24th June. Last week, Docs Ireland launched their 2024 programme which has a fantastic variety of non-fiction film screening and events on offer.

The Docs Ireland Marketplace has expanded this year with events running over two days on Friday 23rd June and Saturday 24th June at 2 Royal Avenue in Belfast city centre. Docs Ireland 2024 opens on 18th June with the award-winning documentary The Flats directed by Alessandra Celesia.

Closing this year’s festival is the documentary, No Other Land, made by a collective of activists as a form of resistance to the ongoing injustices in their region. More details will be released soon about an industry panel at Docs Ireland hosted in partnership with MEDIA Office Dublin.

Creative Europe Desk Italy MEDIA Office Rome will host a free online workshop for producers on the latest trends on the content required by streamers and TV broadcasters. The needs of international buyers - both TV channels and streamers - in terms of deliverables have changed considerably in recent times.

Pauline Mazenod, Head of Acquisitions & Sales at WINDROSE, will reveal the expectations of broadcasters, including practical examples, to enable producers to anticipate and satisfy them efficiently. Before the start of the event the Zoom link will be sent to all registered participants. The workshop will be held in English.
