Irish filmmaking duo Ross White and Tom Berkeley (An Irish Goodbye), and actor Alisha Weir (Abigail) have been named in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Europe Entertainment 2024. This makes Weir the second-youngest person to ever appear on the list.
Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Europe Entertainment list is described as celebrating “young artists, actors and founders”. To be eligible to be included on the list, candidates had to be under the age of 30 as of April 9th, 2024, and never before named on a Forbes 30 Under 30 list in North America, Asia or Europe.
The 2024 list includes Ross White, Tom Berkeley, and Alisha Weir.
Forbes had this to say about the filmmaking duo and the young actress:
“Belfast-based filmmaking duo Ross White, 28, and Tom Berkeley, 28, also made waves as the youngest filmmakers in British history to win an Oscar for their 2023 short film An Irish Goodbye. Meanwhile, Alisha Weir, the 14-year-old star of Matilda: The Musical, stands out as the second-youngest to ever appear on Forbes’ Under 30 Europe Entertainment list (following Millie Bobby Brown, who was 13 when she appeared on our list in 2018).”
This year, Irish candidates can also be found in Forbes 30 under 30 lists in the science and healthcare, tech, business, and retail and e-commerce sections. Dublin singer-songwriter Yasmine Byrne aka Jazzy also features in the Entertainment category alongside White, Berkeley and Weir.
