Louise Kiely has received the Best Casting in a Film award for her work on The Banshees of Inisherin, at the sixth edition of the UK Casting Directors’ Guild Awards.
Casting Director Louise Kiely (Normal People, Sing Street) has received one of the top prizes at the UK Casting Directors’ Guild Awards, taking home the Best Casting in a Film award for casting Martin McDonagh’s The Banshees of Inisherin, starring Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Kerry Condon, and Barry Keoghan.
Nominated productions premiered between September 1st 2022 and December 31st 2023, and were selected by members of the Casting Directors' Guild. The guild represents casting directors in the film, television, theater and commercials industries in Ireland and the UK.
“Fionnuala O'She and I adored working on The Banshees of Inisherin and to be awarded for our work by our international peers is a huge honor. We feel privileged to love what we do and to work with people who inspire us every day,” said Louise Kiely. “We are very grateful.”
Some of Kiely’s most recent work includes casting Marian Quinn’s Twig starring Sade Malone, which premiered at Dublin International Film Festival last night, upcoming Galway-based horror film The Watchers starring Dakota Fanning, and the new Baz Ashmawy-led television series Faithless.
