Director of Photography Dedo Weigert’s lighting seminar will be held on November 5th in Carlton Hotel Dublin, supported by Kerry College.
The film skills training initiative, The Dawn Workshops, will welcome Dedo Weigert back to Ireland for a lighting seminar. Weigert is a director of photography, Academy Award winner, and CEO of Dedo Weigert Film GmbH. The seminar will take place on November 5th in the Carlton Hotel Dublin, and is being provided free of charge with the support of Kerry College.
During this seminar Weigert will discuss the most recent developments in lighting technology including optical systems, LED specs, reflectors, lighting equipment, and the Dedo Lightstream System. A lighting workshop and demonstration during the seminar will look at practical tools for small teams and examples of lighting setups including a hands-on trial.
Dedo Weigert has had a long film career. He became a director of photography in 1964, and has shot numerous TV specials for NBC and US television. He has worked as a DoP, director, and producer in over 40 countries. He has worked across drama, documentary, art films, commercials and specialises in high-speed cinematography.
In 1981, he introduced high-speed video to Germany and is responsible for many technical developments since resulting in over 30 international patents, initially for film cameras, then predominantly for lighting technology. Dedo is a member of cinematographic associations BVK, ACS, RGG, UGC, ASC (associate) & Imago.
