Still, 'Pilgrimage'
The epic drama set in 13th century Ireland is set to open on Friday, July 14th with the creative team attending the special screening at 20:30 in the Irish Film Institute.

‘Pilgrimage’ is distributed in Ireland by Element Pictures. With a cast lead by Tom Holland, Jon Bernthal and Richard Armitage, we follow a group of monks as they attempt to move a sacred relic across a war-torn Ireland.

The Irish Belgian co-production was shot both in the west of Ireland and the Ardennes, with Conor Barry and John Keville of Savage Productions producing at home and Benoit Roland of Wrong Men.

In a recent interview with IFTN Muldowney talks us through his first impressions of Jamie’s script, his route to co-production and also on some of the more challenging parts of the filming process.

Brendan Muldowney, Director:
“My lasting memory of Ireland is the changeable weather. The first day of shooting was one of the worst days we experienced. Gale-force winds and constant driving rain. Then we experienced a heat wave. I also remember standing on the beach in the sun and seeing a dark cloud on the horizon. The ADs would call out “storm coming”, and it would arrive five minutes later, and then we’d shelter for fifteen minutes before the sun came out again and resume shooting.”
