The day-long symposium launches the 2016-17 training programme next Saturday October 22nd, coupled with informative talks on the latest innovations in VFX, animation, games and VR.
The programme is designed to develop industry-focused skills in a workplace setting to further these sectors, which employs over 1,000 in Ireland in animation alone.
It is supported by award-winning studios such as Brown Bag Films, Cartoon Saloon, Boulder Media, and Screen Scene VFX among others. The programme includes on-the-job training and mentoring as well as additional specialist training delivered through Animation Skillnet and Screen Training Ireland.

These sessions will be followed by a special Dublin screening of ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children’ hosted by The Visual Effects Society London. This screening is followed by a Q&A with VFX Supervisor Frazer Churchill (Children of Men). This is supported by Eurotek Ireland and Chaos Group.
The VFX and Animation Symposium is an initative of Screen Training Ireland and Animation Skillnet, and supported by the Irish Film Board, the Industrial Development Authority, and Enterprise Ireland.
