Irish At Cannes: Ellen Page cast in Tilted Pictures and David Freyne’s ‘Third Wave’

Ellen Page
More news from Cannes where Oscar nominated actress Ellen Page (‘Juno’) has been cast in Irish film ‘Third Wave’, directed by Irish filmmaker David Freyne and produced by Tilted Pictures.

The film, also penned by Freyne, is set in the aftermath of a devastating virus that has gripped the continent for six years, transforming humans into zombie-like monsters. ‘Third Wave’ is produced by Rachael O’Kane and Rory Dungan at Dublin-based Tilted Pictures with support from the Irish Film Board and Northern Ireland Screen. Page will also produce.

This is Freyne’s feature directorial debut after making acclaimed short films such as ‘The Tree’, ‘Passing’ and a proof of concept prequel entitled ‘The First Wave’.

Filming is slated to commence in Ireland later this year with Irish actor Sam Keeley (‘Burnt’, ‘What Richard Did’, ‘In The Heart of the Sea’) confirmed as one of Page’s co-stars.
