Element to release ‘The Legend of Longwood’ to Irish cinemas on October 23rd
26 Aug 2015 : Seán Brosnan
Film stars Lucy Morton as Mickey Millar who moves from New York to Longwood
Element Pictures Distribution will release Lisa Mulcahy’s fantasy adventure feature ‘The Legend of Longwood’ to Irish cinemas on October 23rd.

Produced by Michael Garland for Grand Pictures, the €5m feature film centres on a 12-year-old girl called Mickey Miller who has to move from New York to Longwood, a windswept Irish town. There, she soon discovers a link between herself and the 300-year old legend of the mysterious Black Knight, who regularly haunts the sleepy village. Mickey and her new friend Sean set out to redeem the knight and bring peace to the town.

The film is a co-production between Holland Harbour from the Netherlands, Grand Pictures from Ireland and Longwood Pictures from Germany. Filmed in Dublin and Wicklow, the project was financed by the Irish Film Board, the Dutch Film Fund, Premiere Pictures and the DFFF – German Federal Film Fund.

The film stars Lucy Morton, Lorcan Cranitch, Miriam Margoyles and Seán Mahon with Louise Kiely serving as Casting Director. The film was edited by Grainne Gavigan, written by Nadadja Kemper with the score being composed by Patrick Neil Doyle.
