‘The Great Irish Bake Off’ Starts Thursday 19th September
2013-09-18 15:15 : By Julie Browne
'The Great Irish Bake Off' starts Thursday 19th September at 9pm on TV3
‘The Great Irish Bake Off’ is an Irish cooking TV series which premieres on TV3 on Thursday 19th September at 9pm.

Presented by Anna Nolan, the contestants will be judged by cookery writer Biddy White Lennon and Paul Kelly, the executive pastry chef at The Merrion Hotel.

Executive producer, Billy McGrath (Sideline), told IFTN, “It was the most relaxed and trouble-free commission Sideline has ever produced. Even the BBC format executive – who has been overseeing the international roll out of the format in over 15 European countries - told us after the first day of filming that the TV3 version was the most successful he ever experienced. At the launch of the series last week Jeff Ford said the TV3 series was even better than the UK version and at a third or even quarter of the BBC budget the whole crew and cast should take a bow.”

Directed by Maurice Linnane, the series was filmed at Clonabreany House Co Meath over the month of May, with two full shows being produced over three days of filming each week.

The series producer is Grainne O’Carroll; produced by Ciara Bresnihan and Catherine Quinn; executive producers are Billy McGrath (Sideline) and Owen McArdle (TV3). The editors is Joe McElwaine and Ailbhe Gaffney, sound post is Graham Bolger, set designer Anita Barrett. The online editor is Mark Quinn (Highwire), and the Director of Photography is Joe Edwards (‘Dragon’s Den’).

The series is produced by Sideline for TV3. The series is funded by TV3, with Odlums as the title sponsor.

’The Great Irish Bake Off’ starts Thursday, 19th September, on TV3 at 9pm, and runs for eight weeks.
