‘Black Ice’, Johnny Gogan's Irish action-thriller boasting high speed car races filmed in Sligo and Leitrim, will be released in Irish cinemas this 20th September – starring Love/Hate’s Killian Scott in a leading role.
Directed, produced and written by Johnny Gogan, ‘Black Ice’ is set in Donegal and follows the relationship between road racer Jimmy Devlin (Scott) and his girlfriend Alice Watters (newcomer Jane McGrath).
The film is co-produced by Trevor Curran and Nicky Gogan, based on a screenplay by Johnny Gogan and Brian Leyden.
The title track, performed by Sligo rapper Myster E and Sarah Crummy, will be released as a single in Ireland on 29th July.
‘Black Ice’ premiered at this year’s Jameson Dublin International Film Festival in February and will also screen tomorrow, Saturday 13th July, at the Galway Film Fleadh.
A Bandit and Still Films co-production, the film also stars Jason Matthewson, Dermot Murphy, Marian Quinn, Conor McDermottroe and Roisin Scully in supporting roles.
Other crew members include composer Glenn Garrett, director of photography Peter Martin and editor Patrick O’Rourke.
Mr Gogan praised the contribution of Studio North West and the filmmaking and car communities in the north-west of the country for helping the project to come to fruition.
