Dublin-based Phoenix Artz have just wrapped production on the pilot episode for ‘Ghostriders’ a new series featuring two of Fair City’s most recognisable faces, Pat Nolan and Dave Duffy, as they take to the road on motorbikes to hunt down Irish ghost stories.
Historic re-enactments of the ghost stories feature throughout, as Nolan and Duffy visit some of Ireland’s most haunted places to get the full story behind them from local experts.
Noel Brady - winner of Best Director at the LIT Film Festival and Best Irish short at the 'Dublin International Short Film & Music Festival for ‘True-D’ – directs the show, which is more concerned with striving for historical accuracy rather than catching ghosts on camera.
Each episode will focus upon a different historic event with a dramatisation depicting how it came to be haunted- beginning with the tale of the ‘Hellfire Club’ and the tyrant lord ‘Buck Whaley’ who is said to have hunted men for sport in the Dublin mountains.
Cast members included Fergal Cleary, Conor Marren, and Ainé DeSiún who also lends her vocal talents to a rendition of 'Siúil a Rún' on the soundtrack.
Mr Brady is currently in discussions with RTE and ICM in London with additional plans to pitch the format to US networks.
