The Fingal Film Festival 2013 has announced their line up for this year’s workshops for Thursday 9th & Friday 10th May.
BAFTA-winning documentary filmmaker Peter Nicholson will host the documentary film making workshop, which also takes place on Thursday 9th May. Nicholson has twenty-eight years experience writing, directing and producing prime-time UK network and international television programmes. He trained in film drama under the British feature film director Mike Figgis and in documentary with the late Denis Mitchell. Nicholson directed the award winning TV movie ‘Pompeii: The Last Day’ in 2004 and ‘Nuremberg: Goering’s Last Stand’, for which he won a BAFTA TV award in 2007.
On Thursday 9th May, cinematographer Cian De Buitlear will host the cinematography workshop. He has twenty years experience as director of photography (DOP). Some of his credits are "The Natural World" with David Attenborough, feature films include "Man about Dog" and "I Went Down", both directed by Paddy Breathach.
Actor Stephen Lord will host the acting workshop, which will also take place on Saturday 10th May. Stephen is best known for his roles in ‘Shameless’, ‘Eastenders’, ‘Heartbeat’ and ‘Casualty’. Lord’s breakout performance came in 1994 when he starred in the BBC series ‘Common as Muck’ as Jonno Fox. He has also starred in ‘Jackboots on Whitehall’ alongside Ewan McGregor, Timothy Spall, and Richard E.Grant in 2010 and in Ken Loach’s ‘Raining Stones’ and ‘Route Irish’.
