Regular Rabbit
Three short films funded through Screen Ireland and RTÉ's flagship Frameworks scheme, Hermit, Regular Rabbit, and Red Rabbit, will make their television debut next week on RTÉ2.

Sarah Benson's Hermit, Eoin Duffy's Regular Rabbit and Rory Kerr's Red Rabbit all received their World Premiere at the 34th Galway Film Fleadh in 2022 and have gone on to screen at a wide range of film festivals, including Tribeca and the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. All three short films will be available on the RTÉ Player for a limited amount of time after their original screening date.

Hermit takes place in a dystopian future where Mother Nature guards the last of Earth’s flora deep underwater. When the last of humanity (a hermit building a shelter) makes a discovery, greed takes over. The film is written by Patrick Moynihan, Sarah Benson, and Owen Peurois. Directed by Benson and produced by Stephen Fagan for Studio Meala, Hermit will screen at 23.45 on Monday, 4th March.

Regular Rabbit follows a seemingly regular rabbit when its good name falls victim to an unstoppable tide of disinformation. Throughout its festival run, the film travelled to Valladolid, Annecy and Tribeca. Written and directed by Eoin Duffy and produced by Jamie Hogan, Regular Rabbit will screen at 22.50 on Tuesday, 5th March.

In Red Rabbit, an anthropomorphic rabbit struggles to find peace and relaxation at home. These attempts are thwarted by a destructive shoulder devil, who takes glee in ruining any chance of tranquillity. Written and directed by Rory Kerr and produced by Ciara Roche, Red Rabbit will screen at 23.00 on Thursday, 7th March.

Co-funded by Screen Ireland and RTÉ, Frameworks is a scheme for the Irish animation sector. The scheme has produced short films that have gone on to major international success, including Academy Award nominations (Louise Bagnall's Late Afternoon, Nicky Phelan's Granny O'Grimm's Sleeping Beauty) and World Premieres at major film festivals like Tribeca, Annecy and Sundance.

Previous short films produced under the scheme can be watched on Screen Ireland's Shorts Player.
