Budding actors will now find it easier than ever to access course information and resources with a new-look website for the Gaiety Acting School, which has now gone live.

IFTA-winning actress Charlie Murphy - known to Irish audiences as Siobhán in Love/Hate and a celebrated graduate of the Gaiety actor’s course – officially launched the website this week, along with prolific entertainment blogger Darragh Doyle.

Ms Murphy was the recipient of the Best Actress award at the Irish Times theatre awards 2012 and is highlighted as the school’s featured ‘Alumnus of the Month’.

‘I am proud to be a graduate of the Gaiety School and this new website is an exciting new development,’ Ms Murphy said.

Lucidity Digital developed the new site in conjunction with print designers Mr & Mrs Stevens, with the express goal of making it more interactive and user-friendly for students and alumni alike. Social media links integrated into the homepage also allow access to a wider community of actors, industry contacts and well-wishers.

Headshots of past and present pupils will be featured on the site, along with the opportunity for them to upload their CVs and acting credits. An Outreach section contains details on the Gaiety school’s wide selection of off-site training and development workshops, available throughout the country to schools, communities and corporate clients.

Patrick Sutton, Director of the Gaiety School of Acting, said the website reflected 27 years of confidence and creativity, with a long list of famous alumni including Colin Farrell, Olivia Wilde, Aidan Turner, Sarah Greene, Stuart Townsend, Eva Birthistle, Charlie Murphy, Rory Nolan and Colin O’Donoghue.

Founded in 1986, the Gaiety School of Acting - The National Theatre School of Ireland – is now recognised as Ireland’s leading training facility for actors, based on a philosophy of enhancing creativity and confidence through the medium of performance.

Further information is available by exploring the website itself at gaietyschool.com
