Brendan O’Carroll has added to his awards shelf after picking up the Best Comedy/Entertainment Programme award for ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’ at last night’s Scottish BAFTAs.
The Dublin comedian returned to Glasgow, where his hit RTÉ series is filmed, for the ceremony hosted by Scottish DJ Edith Bowman.
O’Carroll was present to pick up his award, which marks his fourth this year. ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’ previously picked up a BAFTA, an IFTA and a TV Choice Award.
Also nominated on the night was Irish feature film ‘Citadel’, which was up for Best Feature Film as well as Best Actor for James Cosmo. Zam Salim’s ‘Up There’ won in the Best Feature Film category.
Other winners on the night included Paul Brannigan, who picked up the Best Actor award for his role in Ken Loach’s ‘The Angels’, and BBC Scotland, which won the current affairs award for ‘Rangers - The Men Who Sold The Jerseys’.
‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’ meanwhile will make a return to RTÉ and BBC screens later this year with its third season, while O’Carroll is currently on tour with the show in the UK.
The series is a BBC Scotland and BocPix production in association with RTÉ.
