Irish actress Geraldine Somerville is to star opposite Nicole Kidman in a film about the life of legendary Hollywood actress Grace Kelly.
Somerville, who hails from Co Meath and is best known for her roles in ‘Cracker’ and the ‘Harry Potter’ series, has been cast as Princess Antoinette in director Olivier Dahan's ‘Grace of Monaco’.
Kidman will play the title role of Grace Kelly in the film, which has just begun shooting in France. Other cast attached includes Tim Roth, Roger Ashton-Griffiths (Gangs of New York) as Alfred Hitchcock and Robert Lindsay (My Family) as Aristotle Onassis.
The film is being produced by Pierre-Ange Le Pogam with Uday Chopra of YRF Entertainment.
Arash Amel is the screenwriter behind the film, which will tell the story of Kelly's involvement with Monaco's Prince Rainier III and France's Charles De Gaulle, during their dispute over tax laws in the early 1960s.
