Organisers of the OFFline Film Festival have teamed up with Access Cinema and local students in Co Offaly to help advise them on the youth programme for this October's festival
A special Zoom youth screening day was held in Birr Theatre last Tuesday (August 14), which saw students from Nenagh, Birr, Tullamore, Banagher and Ferbane watch a selection of films and trailers and then discuss which films they preferred and why. The students then offered their thoughts to the OFFline organisers.
Zoom is an ongoing scheme from the Access Cinema group designed specifically for younger audiences and secondary school students. Access Cinema is the national representative body for over 60 film clubs in Ireland. Their core activity is booking and dispatching films, on both 35mm and DVD on behalf of their member groups.
This year’s OFFline Film Festival will take place over October 10-14 in Birr. The full programme for the festival is due to be announced on September 13.
