Dundalk director James Mulholland has wrapped principal photography on two projects, a horror short entitled 'Don't Expect Me Home' and the first episode of a planned 12-part web series called ‘Elite’.
Both projects were shot back to back earlier this month in Co Louth and were written and directed by Mulholland (My Father's Son). Cedarwood Park Productions produced both works.
'Don't Expect Me Home' was co-produced by Mulholland and Matthew Kelly. It tells the story of a girl called Aoife, who is minding her uncle’s house that is situated in the middle of nowhere, but she soon realises she is not alone.
The short stars Aoife Williamson (What If?), Matthew Kelly (My Father's Son) and Grace Kelly (Unlocking Charlie, Hysteria). Mulholland shot the short on a Canon 550D over three days. Christina Martin was on sound.
'Elite' is a planned 12 episode action web series that should shoot an episode every two months. It tells the story of a former government soldier who comes out of hiding to find out the truth of his brother's death, but unravels a truth he doesn't expect.
Jonathan Caffrey (I love Lucifer) plays the lead role throughout the series, while Grace Kelly (Unlocking Charlie, Hysteria) will be a supporting character. Phillip Coyne (32A, Fair City) and Kevin Brennan (Gurriers) will also be making regular appearances throughout the series.
Episode one of 'Elite' was produced By Christina Martin (My Father's Son). Mulholland again shot the episode on a Canon 550D over one full day. Alan Wilson was on sound while John Egan contributed to the fight choreography.
Both projects are currently in post-production, with Mulholland editing. ‘Don't Expect Me Home’ is hoped to finish post-production by September while episode one of 'Elite' will be streamed online early next month.
