TV3 has announced that IFTA winning television format ‘The Apprentice’ will not be returning to screens this year after four successful series.

The series, which saw hopefuls fight it out for a chance to work as an apprentice with Dublin entrepreneur and businessman Bill Cullen, had been produced in Ireland for TV3 by Screentime ShinAwil over the past four years.

In a short statement TV3 said: “TV3 has had four successful series of The Apprentice and had decided not to renew the series for a fifth year. TV3 would like to take this opportunity to thank ShinAwiL for four successful years of The Apprentice.”

The broadcaster added that it will announce a new series of programmes at its autumn launch in August.
