Dublin actor Brendan Gleeson (The Guard) has been cast as a war criminal in director Brad Silberling’s upcoming thriller ‘An Ordinary Man’. Gleeson will play a man in hiding whose only human contact becomes his maid, played by ‘Limitless’ actress Abbie Cornish.
Silberling (City of Angels) will direct the thriller from his own script, as well as produce it through his Reveal Entertainment with co-producers Disruptive Media. Chris Miller (How I Met Your Mother), James Burke and Michael Richter will all produce alongside him. David Lonner (Devious Maids) will executive produce.
Principal photography on ‘An Ordinary Man’ is due to begin in Belgrade in Serbia this autumn.
It was recently announced Gleeson had joined the ‘Smurfs’ sequel, starring alongside ‘How I Met Your Mother’ star Neil Patrick Harris. The 3D animation is currently in production.
Cornish recently finished shooting Martin McDonagh's comedy ‘Seven Psychopaths’ with another Dublin-born actor Colin Farrell, which is set for release in 2013.
